Obasanjo To Chair YabaTech's N50 Billion Endowment Fund Launch




Nigeria's former president,,Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is expected to preside over the forthcoming N50billion endowment fund raising project for the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos State 

Rector of the Institution, Engr Obafemi Omokungbe leading other members of the management on a 
courtesy visit to Obasanjo in his country home in Abeokuta, made this known to newsmen on Thursday 


According to the rector ,the visit was to brief the former president on the scheduled 50 billion naira endowment fund launch and to also respectfully invite and request his consent to chair the event.

Responding, Chief Obasanjo who described the endowment fund as a laudable, expressed his readiness to chair the event. 

He was particularly happy that the management of the college is thinking outside the box in its effort to see to the growth and development of the college. 

He went on to give the rector and his team valuable hints on how to plan and organize a successful endowment fund. 


Speaking later, the rector on behalf of the management team expressed delight and appreciation to Chief Obasanjo for the audience he granted the management despite the short notice.

 He explained that the reason behind the institution of the 50 billion Naira endowment fund was to address the myriad of obvious and peculiar  bedeviling the College, especially in the areas of infrastructural decay, obsolete equipment for teaching, learning and research.

The Endowment Launch which has been approved by the College Governing Council is scheduled to hold on Thursday, September 25, 2022 at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Other management staff in the management team in the entourage include:Dr. Mrs Titilayo Ukabam(Deputy Rector, Academics),  Uduak Inyang-Udoh(Deputy Rector, Admin, Dr Kayode Momodu(Registrar), Dr.(Mrs) polytechnic Librarian, Gabriel Ogunsanwo, Deputy Registrar,Mrs Titi Obadimu, Deputy Registrar and Ifesnyichukwu Amaechina, Chairman, SERVICOm among others.
