Ogun Govt Pays N500m Gratuity To Pensioners, Warns Public Against Fake Recruitment Advert



Governor Dapo Abiodun has approved the released of N500m for the payment of gratuity for the remaining Pensioners from the backlog of the first quarter of the year 2022 for both State and Local Government Pensioners, ahead of the three weeks aultimaltum issued by the retirees to government which expires this Thursday, 28th of April.

Governor Abiodun gave the approval in fulfillment of his promise to release N500 million on quarterly basis for payment of their outstanding gratuities the senior citizens who served the State diligently said it is important to see to their welfare and wellbeing.

The Permanent Secretary, Bureau of State Pensions, Mr. Olukunle Sodeinde made this known in his office at Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, stating that the present administration would continue to honour and respect the senior citizens.

He appreciated the Governor for keeping to his promise that N500m would be released every quarter of the year, urging the pensioners that are yet to get theirs to be patient with this present administration.

Speaking some of the pensioners praised the Governor for paying their pensions and for his support towards them, appealing to him to increase their gratuity as the economy improves.

Meanwhile the Ogun State Civil Service Commission (CSC) has announced to the general public to disregard the recruitment advertisement of officers/personnel into the State Civil Service as being advertised on the website, recruit.org.ng, and currently being circulated on various social media platforms.

 Permanent Secretary, Civil Service Commission, Mr. Adedayo Somoye in a statement made available to clarified that the State Governmis not currently recruiting officers and when the opportunity arises, such advertisement will be made through the regular Civil Service Channels, as well as the State job portal.

 He advised the public to beware of false advertisements and take appropriate caution, as the State Civil Service will not be responsible for any loss or losses incurred based on false advertisements.
