Abiodun Emerges As Best Governor In Digital Economy



Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has been adjudged by The Daily Independent Newspapers  as the Nigeria's Best Governor in Digital Economy.

Presenting the award at the Governor's office in Abeokuta, the Saturday Editor of the newspaper, Yemisi Adebisi said the Governor was selected in recognition of his exceptional governance style and contribution to the development of the State economy.





Adebisi who disclosed that the award was fashioned at celebrating trailblazers and exceptional Nigerians in their various fields of endeavors, commended the Governor's level of humility, the spirit of service, and deliberate attempt at fixing roads that were of commercial values, as well as the Agro Cargo Airport under construction.

The Editor acknowledged the achievements of the Governor so far in the State, saying the company believes he has what it takes to move Ogun to an unprecedented level.

"The management of Independent Newspapers sat down and carefully looked at the trailblazers and exceptional Nigerians in the Country, permit me to announce here today that yours was one of the five names that was mentioned in Nigeria and we discovered that since assumption of office, all that you have done cut across various sectors. Your verifiable achievements make you exceptional and we looked at the digital economy and how you have transformed the State", he said.




Responding, Prince Abiodun appreciated the Daily Independent Newspapers for acknowledging what his administration has done to transform the State in the short period of his administration, adding that the government had been deliberate in its quest to use Information Communication Technology to better the lot of the State.

The Governor added that his administration would continue to do all it could to ensure that the State benefits from its closeness to Lagos State, noting that the red and purple rail project of the Lagos State government would also be extended into Ogun.
