Two more public specialized universities, Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) and Lagos State University of Science and Technology have been approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC)
Executive Secretary of the commission, Prof. Rasheed Abubakar, presented the operational licences for the formal take off of the two universities to the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the NUC Headquarters in Abuja
The State House of Assembly had recently approved the upgrading of the Lagos State Polytechnic to the University of Science and Technology and Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education to the, Lagos State University of Education respectively.
The two universities will run multi-campus system with the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) having its campuses in Ijanikin and Epe while Lagos State University of Science and Technology has it owned campuses in Ikorodu, Isolo and Surulere.
With the approval of the two new universities joining the existing Lagos University Ojo, the State Governmentnow runs three universities
