AFCON 2021:Eagles Beat Pharaohs 1-0, As Sudan, Guinea Bissau End In Goaless Draw



It was a sweet victory for Nigeria's Super Eagles who recorded their first win against Pharaohs of Egypt on Tuesday at the ongoing 2021 African Cup of Nations AFCON in Cameroon, after 32years in the history of the competition

Liecestercity of England striker, Kelechi Iheanacho grabbed the only goal of the thrilling Group D match in the 30th minute of the encounter, to give the Eagles the deserved win, since their last victory against the Egyptians in the 1990 AFCON in Algeria 

The Austine Eguavoen tutored side are now topping the group with three points, after both Sudan and Guinea Bissau ended the group's second match in a goaless draw, with each of them having a point ahead of Egypt with zero point

Another win for Nigeria in the next group match against Sudan  on Saturday will secure the second round ticket in the Africa's most prestigious football competition. 

Defending Champions, Desert Foxes of Algeria were however held to a goaless draw by Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in a Group E match played on the same day
