2021 AFCON: Eagles Beat Sudanese 3-1, Move To Second Round

Nigeria's Super Eagles joined host Cameroon  and Morocco to book their place in the second round stage of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations AFCON, after thrashing Sudan 3-1 on Saturday in a second match played in Garoua 

Vilareal of Spain's Youngster, Samuel Chukwueze opened scoring for the Eagles within just three minutes of play in the Group D encounter before Union Berlin of Germany's striker Sunday Awoniyi doubled the lead before half time

The Austine Eguavoen tutored side continued their dominance of the match with another early goal on resumption of the remaining half from Nante of France, Moses Simeon  who extended the goal tally before the Sudanese reduced the margin after converting penalty awarded against the Nigerian side

Nigeria  maintained its top position with six maximum points from two matches haven defeated Pharoahs of Egypt by a lone-goal

The Egyptians are now in second place with three points after they struggled to beat hard-fighting Guinea Bissau side by a lone-goal, courtesy of Mohammed Salah's 70th minute strike 

Both Egypt and Sudan meet in the last group D match and a win for either of the two sides, will secured the second round ticket 

The Guinea Bissau side with just a point, will be seeking a win against the Eagles who are already through to the next  round of the Competition
