Nigeria's D'Tigress In Final Of Afro-basket, Dismiss Senegalese Ladies 73-63




D'Tigress of Nigeria are through to historic third consecutive final in the FIBA Women Afro-basket, after dismissing arch-rivals the Senegalese Ladies 73-63 points in a semi-final game on Friday in Younde, Cameroon

The African number ranked team and defending Champions will now clash with Malians who narrowly defeated host Cameroon 52-51 points, to qualify for the Sunday's final   

D'Tigress left no one in doubt about their readiness to reach the final for the three consecutive time, as Nigerians won the first three quarters before the Senegalese came back 19-13points in the last quarter but not good enough as the  Nigerian senior women side maintained 10points lead in the final

The trio of Amy Okonkwo (16points),Ify Ibekwe (14points) and captain Adaora  Elonu (12points ) contributed 42points to the Coach Otis Hughley tutored side'victory 


Senegal's captain Mame Marie Sy-Diop led other players in the game with 18points , two assists, two blocks
 two while team-mates Yacine Diop  and Ndeye Fatou Ndiaye  recorded 14 and 11points respectively 

The Senegalese are missing out in the final of the competition for the first time since 2015, 2017 and 2019 edition while D'Tigress won the two previous editions in 2017 and 2019 and will be seeking for third consecutive win
