Ogun State Government will be showcasing its very popular local fabric "Adire",special delicacy "Ofada Rice" and rich cultural festival, "Eyo masquerade", when it joins the rest of the world to celebrate the 44th edition of World Tourism Day on next week Monday, September 27 in Abeokuta, the state capital
The State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo who unfolded his ministry plan in a statement,said the state would be using the global event to expose its huge tourism potentials to tourists and prospective investors'
Governor Dapo Abiodun according to the statement, is the Chief host while his Wife, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun is the Chief Guest of Honour at the two-day event which would be preceded by a capacity building on making of Adire fabric and souvenirs on Sunday
The Commissioner added that the capacity building would hold at the Asero Adire International Market, Asero, Abeokuta by 10.00am.
The grand finale will take place on Monday, September 27 at the Valley View Auditorium, Government House, Oke-Igbehin, Abeokuta, by 10.00am, featuring paper presentations on tourism industry, documentary on Ofada rice, Eyo and other tourism potentials in the State.
