"Ogun State 50 Top Role Models" Now On Sale



A book titled "Ogun State Top 50 Role Model" published by foremost Community newspaper in the state, Prestige Newspaper, is now on sale after its formal public presentation on 10th of June,2021 at Basic Trust hall in Abeokuta, the state capital

The author of the book, a highly respected journalist and Editor-in-Chief of Prestige Newspaper, Dada Olanipekun explained that he was inspired by Nigeria's former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, to celebrate the meaningful contributions of others in the  society for the present and next generation of people to appreciate the exploits of these notable individuals.




The top 50 Role Model according to the  author, were  carefully selected out of over 200 worthy nominations received by the panel for the publication

The Ogun State Council Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress NLC, Comrade Emmanuel Bankole, his Trade Unions Congress (TUC), Comrade Bunmi Fajobi  and Comrade Segun Dada, the then Chairman of Nigerian Small-Scale Industrialists are among the top 50 Role Models in the book






 Olanipekun who is also the immediate past Chairman of  Association of Nigerian Authors(ANA) in the state, used the public presentation of the book, to appreciate the support of the immediate past Ibikunle Amosun's administration in the state, for the recommendation of the previous book, "The Soyinka In Me",published by Prestige Newspaper, to public schools and the present Dapo Abiodun's administration for inclusion of the same book as one of literature textbooks for schools in the state

The State Chairman of ANA, Engr.Paul Oni lauded the author for the initiative of appreciating the unique contributions of others and putting it together for the reading public, promising that members of the association would continue to write books to address the challenges in the society and proffer solutions to them

High Chief of Owu-Abeokuta Kingdom, Chief Doja Adewolu, former State Chairmen of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Dr.Adewunmi Alayaki and Dr.Olajide Lawal were among dignitaries that attended the public presentation
