Kwara Utd,Pillars In Neck To Neck Battle For NPFL Title

Both Kwara United of Ilorin and Kano Pillars are in neck to neck battle for the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title, as they finished with 36 points each at the top of the elite division lafter first round of 19 matches on Sunday

Ohanu's brace in the 58th and 81st minutes gave Kwara United the needed win against the visiting Nasarawa United of Lafia, to climb to the summit of the top flight league

Kano Pillars through Rabiu Ali's lone-strike in the 63rd minute,secured the maximum three points against relegation threaten Warri Wolves, as the team joined the Afonja Warriors who have superior goal difference, in close chase for the title

In earlier match played on Saturday,  Akwa United of Uyo held host Sunshine Stars of Akure to a goaless draw, to end on the third spot with 33points while still having outstanding match, to move closer and contest for the league title 

Dakkada United were too hot in week 19 match played in Uyo, humiliating the visiting Rivers United of Port-harcourt,four/two while host, MFM of Lagos and struggling FC Ifeanyi Ubah ended in one-all draw 

Homeside,Wikki Tourists of Bauchi defeated Katsina United three/one to improve on their 14th position on the table, Lobi Stars also gave its standing a big boost on the ladder, with a slim two/one win against the visitors, Jigawa Golden Stars of Dutse 

To round-off the first half of the season,this Monday, Heartland of Owerri take on bottom placed Adamawa United while Abia Warriors try the defending champions, Plateau United of Jos for size in other match
