Rivers United Suspends 2 Players Over Unethical Conduct



The management of Rivers United FC has has suspended indefinitely its  goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokai and defender Ifeanyi Anaemena  for unethical and unprofessional sportsman conduct.

General Manager of the club,Chief (Dr. )Okey Kpalukwu announced the suspension in a statement on Monday.

The indefinite suspension according to the statement, takes immediate effect pending the outcome of an investigation on the matter.

Edu-Biznews recalled that the Pride of Rivers were humiliated  three/nil by the rampaging Akwa United in Uyo in the week 13 match in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL)

Coach Stanley Eguma tutored side are yet to recover from their exit in the CAF Confederation Cup by NPFL rivals, Enyimba International of Aba.

The Port-harcourt base have lost back to back in their two matches played so far, after returning to the domestic league from the continental competition and currently in the 8th position with 18points and two outstanding matches to be played.
