Petrol Pump Price Now N212.60 Per-Litre In Nigeria- PPRA

Nigerians will now pay N212.60 for a litre of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol, after weeks of uncertainty in the exact pump price for the product, arising from the continous rise in the price of per barrel  of crude oil in the global market

The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPRA) which   released the new monthly template, early this Friday, says petrol is expected to sell at a lower retail price of N209.61 and at an upper retail price of N212.61.

Oil marketers usually use the upper band for pump price at which they dispense  the product to customers in various filing stations in the country

Further breakdown of the template for March, fixed ex-depot price at N206.42, while the landing cost is N189.61 per litre.

The development contradicts the stance of the Nigerian Petroleum Corporation who had assured Nigerians of no increase in the pump price of the product in March, despite the Federal Government's deregulation of the oil sector

The corporation  had promised that its negotiation with Organized labour will determine the acceptable new pump price for petrol, considering the price at the International oil market and instability in the exchange rate , with out making life unbearable for Nigerians
