Ogun Moves To Digitalise Land Matters



Ogun State Government has concluded move to upgrade its Geographical Information System (GIS),aimed at ensuring proper modern documentation of land matters and administration, so as to enhance work flow system

Special Adviser/Director General, Bureau of Lands and Survey, Mr. Aina Salami speaking in Abeokuta during the signing of agreement and presentation of cheques to Consultants engaged for the upgrade, explained that the step would contribute immensely to the productivity and service delivery of the Bureau and the state at large 

He added that it would bring about automation securing of data without files.

Salami stated that the upgrading, when completed would further aid document management and safety on land related matters for future purposes.

Also speaking, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Land, GIS, Mr. Remi Oluwabiyi said the essence of the upgrading was to have a robust data, adding that it would improve operations of the Bureau.

Contributing, the Project Coordinator, Ogun State Transformation Economic Project (OGSTEP), Engr. Toyin Jokosenumi pointed out that the project was a World Bank initiative to run States' GIS more effectively, as part of efforts to reposition the economy of the State.

In their various responses, the Consultancy companies; Mr. Tobi Sowole of SPATIAL MATRIX Limited, and Mr. Olumide Balogun of IQ Systems Solutions Limited, said the development would enhance system of managing and delivering of data in a new perspective, as well as getting functional feedback, assuring that the project would be delivered at the agreed period.
