Eagles Feast On Crocodiles,As Sierra-Leone,Benin Match Still Delays

The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday feasted on the Crocodiles of Lesotho, thrashing the visitors 3-0 in its Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final qualifying match played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos

Napoli FC of Italy top Striker Victor Osihmen opened scoring for the Nigerian Senior side in the 23rd minute, before Oghenekaro Etebo of Galatasaray FC of Turkey in the 51st minute  and substitute Paul Onuachu of Genk of Belgium completed the demolition of the Lesotho side

Nigeria finished its AFCON 2022 qualifying campaign unbeaten with 14 points as Group L leaders, having won four matches and drew two

Osimhen opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, latching on to a pass over the defence by Kelechi Iheanacho to slot home past the Lesotho goalkeeper. He has scored  five goals in the qualifiers this term.

Lesotho pulled one back minutes later but was ruled out for offside.

However, the crucial final Group L match between host Sierra Leone and Benin-Republic in Free-Town,was postponed on Tuesday, following the  refusal of the visitors to accept their positive coronavirus test results carried out on them by the local officials

Squirrels of Benin-Republic must avoid losing to host, for them to qualify while homeside, Leone Stars need a comprehensive win, to secure a place in the 2022 AFCON in Cameroon

The Beninoise are at the risk of losing the very important encounter,if Caf decides to accept the result of the test by the host country and award the match in Sierra Leone's favour
