Ogun Govt. Lauds MAPOLY Graduate For Winning NYSC Presidential Award

Ogun State Government has lauded the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic,(MAPOLY) Computer Science graduate, Miss Adetutu Seriki for her exemplary committment during the one year mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 

Seriki is among the 109 corps members recently honoured by President Mohamedu Buhari  and offered automatic employment into the Federal Civil Service and scholarship for the pursuit of post-graduate studies up to doctorate level in any choice of university in Nigeria and cash prizes.

The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu expressing the government's appreciation for such National Award, assured that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration in Ogun State would do all within its capacity to bring out the best in the youth and prepare them for the task of leadership in the future.

 Arigbabu who gave the assurance in Abeokuta, while hosting the awardee for her outstanding performance, during the one-year youth service programme, pointed out that the State government would always associate with youths, who have distinguished themselves with such notable achievements

The Commissioner enjoined the awardee  to make good use of the benefits that come with the award, describing her as a role model for others to emulate.

 "On behalf of the State government, I congratulate and rejoice with one of our outstanding students, who have proven herself during the National Youth Service Corp programme, to attract presidential recognition and award. We are proud of you and we will continue to support you, because such feat is worth emulating" the Commissioner noted.

Also speaking, the Acting Rector of MAPOLY, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, said the awardee had made the school proud among its peers in the country, while admonishing other students to be good ambassadors of the State.

Recalling her experience during the service year, the Computer Science graduate attributed her success to God, saying the plight of the pupils of Ibadan Municipal Government Primary School, 1&2, Oje, Alakia Oke Elewa, in Ibadan, spurred her to solicit support from philanthropists to provide modern well, uniforms and sandals for them.

The awardee who was not posted to the school originally, also embarked on mending of collapsed part of the school’s fence, fixed a new gate to the school and donated food items and toiletries to the Children of Jesus Orphanage Home.
