Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in Ogun State has lauded Govenor Dapo Abiodun for appointing Mrs. Folakemi Iyabode Rotimi as the new Director of Sports, at the State Sports Council.
SWAN in a statement by its State Secretary ,Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji which was made available to Edu-Biznews on Saturday in Abeokuta, described Mrs Rotimi's elevation as long overdue .
The association said her appointment would redefine the face of sports progress in the state.
According to SWAN, "Mrs. Rotimi is an astute sports administrator ,table tennis umpire and a professional tennis player who has won many laurels for both the state and country".
"We have no doubt in our minds that, her promotion would further improve sports development in the state"the association stated
SWAN enjoined the new Director of Sports to bring her professional expertise to bear in repositioning the dwindling glory of sports in the state especially athletics.
