The edifice was recreated by the immediate past Ibikunle Amosun's administration as one of the legacy projects, towards the ends of its regime in 2019.
The State Culture and Tourism Commissioner, Dr.Oluwatoyin Taiwo announced the proposed upgrading of the building's facilities at the recently concluded 2021 budget defence by the Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government before the State House of Assembly in Abeokuta.
He revealed that N28million had been earmarked by the ministry for the capital project which includes construction of public park lots and recreational park for tourists in the coming fiscal year.
There will also be a gallery for collection of Art Crafts and Art Works as well as interior decoration of the structure to make it looks more appealing to the visitors.
According to the commissioner, the building will be renovated, painted and major repairs will be done in its 10 Rest Rooms to make it more befitting.
Taiwo added that another N100million had been voted by the Dapo Abiodun's administration, to transform the Oba Adisa Odeleye Park(popularly known as Ori-Omi) at Ita-Iyalode area of the city into a modern museum, monument and park for fun seekers to enjoy themselves.
