NPFL: Kwara United Compound Plateau United Woes



Kwara United  Football Club of Ilorin compounded the woes of their host, Plateau United with a two/nil victory away from home in Jos, in day-one of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2020/2021 season.

The Coach Abdu Maikaba tutored side poor run in the season started with a home loss in the CAF Champions League first round match to their opponents from Tazania who eliminated them from the continental clubs competitions.

The Jos based side are at the bottom of the Nigeria's top flight league while Kwara United are topping the table with three points plus two goals.

In other matches played on Sunday, home teams defeated their visitors while only the encounter between Adamawa United and Kano Pillars ended in one goal apiece.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah managed a lone-goal victory over Lobi Stars of Makurdi, Jigawa Golden Stars of Dutse recorded similar margin against Gbenga Ogunbote led Sunshine Stars
from Akure at the Ahmadu  Bello Stadium in Kaduna.

In Lagos, MFM defeated visiting Warri Wolves by two/one while Nasarawa United of Lafia won by the same score-line against Wikki Tourists of Bauchi.

Other matches including the derbies involving Enyimba International of Aba and Abia Warriors and Akwa United and Dakada were shifted to between Monday and Wednesday.
