Ogun YSFON Seals Five-Year Deal With Afrik-Europe




Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) in Ogun State has sealed a five-year deal with a talent hunt sporting firm,"Afrik-Europe International Sporting Management" to develop sports in the state.

The State Chairman of YSFON, Alhaji Waheed Adeoye Lawal who revealed the deal on Monday in Abeokuta, during an inauguration of the federation's state executives, said that the agreement would assist it in packaging of the classified youth sports programmes in the state.

"Few weeks ago , Afrik-Europe International Sporting Management with our ex-International, Christopher Nwosu as president has agreed to an initial 5-year partnership deal with Ogun State YSFON, this will in no small measure pop up the already classified youth sports programmes in the state", Lawal disclosed.

Lawal who doubles as the President of AllStars Football Club of Abeokuta, also sought the support of the Ogun State Government , the State Football Association, Corporate organizations, philanthropists  and other stakeholders  to assist YSFON in its task of transforming  sports sector into a major sources of income in the nearest future.

 YSFON according to Lawal, "is also seeking  partnership with Ogun State Coaches and Referees Association, Teqball Association, Sports Masters Association of Nigeria as well as National Association of Primary School Games Master and Mistress, to discover athletes at major Inter-House Sports in primary and secondary schools in the state" 

The former player of CBN Football side, NEPA of Abeokuta and Housing Lions FC of Abeokuta, revealed that the Annual"Agunragbaja's Cup" for the Under 13 and Under 15 competition would be integrated into YSFON organized championship, to further discover raw-talents for football.

Also Chairman of the State Football Association, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi represented by a top official, Alhaji Ibirogba assured YSFON of the association's readiness to support its developmental programmes.

 Chairman of the Nigeria National League side Remo Stars of Ikenne-Remo, Hon.Kunle Soname represented by the General Manager of Gateway United Football Club, Mr.Niyi Soleye promised to give the needed financial and moral support to the federation's activities in the state while ex-International and one Africa Coach of the Year with Enyimba International of Aba, Kadiri Ikhana pledged a quarterly donation of N20,000 to YSFON.

 President of All Stars Football Club of Muda Lawal Stadium Asero, Abeokuta, Alhaji Saliu equally pledged a quarterly donation of N5,000 to the federation.

The State SWAN Chairman, Alhaji Hakeem Akintunde promised to support YSFON with its constructive criticism in the media, to ensure development of sports in the state.

Other executive members of the State YSFON inaugurated, include a former member and Chairman of Youth and Sports Committee of the State House of Assembly, Hon.Olufemi Allen-Taylor as Vice-Chairman, Kehinde Adeyemi (Secretary), Ahmed Fatai(Assistant Secretary), Babalola Semiu Adesina (Treasurer), Alhaja Kudirat Odebiyi (Financial Secretary), Henry Oviawe (Technical Training Officer), former State Chairman of SWAN,Biodun Alabi(Publicity Secretary), Kayode Sofolu (Organizing Secretary) and Segun Williams (Welfare Officer).

YSFON National Secretary, Patrick Opavuerhe , top football coaches including former handlers of Gateway United, Kolawole Taiwo, Toyin Ayinla and Biodun Odejimi among other  dignitaries attended the event.
