Gov.Abiodun Vows To Sustain Ogun Leading Role Role In Agric

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has vowed that   his administration would continue to sustain  its leading role in food production, in Nigeria, particularly within the  south west part of the country

Abiodun speaking during the State's 2020 Christmas Carol and Service of 9 lessons,  at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, said his recent awards  as "The Best Governor in the Agric, Housing sectors by stakeholders as well as best administration in education by the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) were in appreciation of his administration deliberate efforts  to make the State a destination of choice for investors in agriculture, as well as housing and education sectors.

The governor added that his administration would continue to do all it could to make the State the preferred location for all sorts of investments in Nigeria.

His words," We have done so well in agriculture, we remain the number one State in the production of cassava, rice , eggs and many others in the South West, all these we managed to either attain or sustain despite the pandemic".

" The pandemic afforded us the opportunity to further support our farmers with various inputs, all our efforts have not gone unnoticed because we won the Governor of the year in affordable housing and agriculture and the Parents Teachers Association also gave us the administration of the year in education", Abiodun further stated .

The governor who  commended youths in the State for their conduct  during the recent #EndSARS protest  in the country, also urged the people of the state to be compassionate and responsible, by being moderate in their celebration of Christmas, as well as observing COVID-19 protocols.

" Christmas is a season of love, it is a season where you must show each other compassion, let us go out of our way to be nice to one another, it has been a very tough year, where people have lost their jobs, businesses have closed down, let us find ways and means to touch other people’s lives, by being kind to them, this is the true essence of Christmas.

National Vice President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Reuben Olu-Oke In his sermon taken from the books of Luke, chapter 2 verse 7 and John, chapter 1, verse 11  titled, " Why did Jesus come",  said the season was not meant for merry making or exchange of gifts only, but ‘’the reason for the season was for Jesus Christ to pay the debts he did not even owe’’,.

The cleric  urged  the people to always understand that they only operate under the grace and mercy of God, while admonishing them to leave a good life, as it is in their hand to either live in heaven or hell fire.

The State's First Lady , Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun read the first lesson from the book of Genesis, chapter 1:2 and chapter 30:31, while  Governor Dapo Abiodun read the ninth lesson from the book of St. John 1:1-14.
