Ogun Govt.,Lisabi Power Company Sign MOU To Boost Electricity Supply



Business and other commercial activities in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital will soon enjoy regular electricity supply, following the signing of  a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the State Government and an independent power plant operator, Lisabi Power Company.

The firm under the agreement, will expand electricity distribution to major parts of Abeokuta metropolis.

Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Olatokunbo Talabi conducted the formal signing of the MoU with Viathan Engineering ,operators of the  Power Plant,  at the Executive Council Chambers of the Governor's office in Abeokuta.
 
Speaking on behalf of the power firm, the Chief Executive Officer, Habeeb Alebiosu, said the occasion was to consolidate on the company's operations, in a bid to increase foothold and expand the capacity of electricity distribution to meet energy needs of the government and residents in the city.

His  words"The MoU effectively speaks to consolidating on our operations here in Ogun State, naturally being the gateway in the southwest region. The overall objective is to increase our foothold, expand the capacity to meet the needs of government and its citizens”.

 Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy, Engr. Lolu Adubifa , described the event as  historic agreement between the Dapo Abiodun's administration and VIATHAN.

He maintained that the MoU signed would effectively double the  capacity of the plant, to meet the energy needs of the people in Abeokuta Zone.

Adubifa  added that government remained genuinely committed to making the State a preferred investment destination of choice in the country.
