We Will Review School Curriculum In Ogun-Arigbabu

 





Ogun State Education,Science and Technology Commissioner Designate,Professor Abayomi Adelaja Arigbabu has promised to review curriculum in public schools, to inculcate vocational training for pupils to acquire needed additional  skills to create jobs and not seeking for jobs.

The Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education,(TASUED), Ijagun-Ijebu-Ode,unfolded the plan on Monday during his screening by the State House of Assembly in Abeokuta, the state capital.

He explained that the proposed review of school curriculum would ensure that pupils acquired additional knowledge through vocational training, for them to use their hands for survival.

"We need vocational programme in public schools, to produce students who can use their hands after Secondary School education"Arigbabu stressed

 Arigbabu added that the curriculum review would include using of Information Communication Technology (ICT) to drive the educational system in the state .

Solar system according to him, would be installed as alternative source of electricity to run efficient education sector, driven by ICT .

The nominee, assured that priority would be given to welfare of Teachers and Students welfare, if confirmed by the Lawmakers .

The Professor of Mathematics Education vowed to carry out reform in the education sector, to restore confident in public schools and increase level of patronage by parents who have more trust in private schools because of its quality.





Also his counterpart in the State And Information and Strategy Ministry, Comrade Waheed Odusile, the Managing Editor of "The Nation Newspaper", said priority would be given to dissemination of the right  information about government's activities and policies to prevent spead of rumour.

The former president of Nigerian Union of Journalists(NUJ) and Federation of African Journalists, expressed concern about the situation in the  State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC) assured the Lawmakers of restoring the lost glory of the radio station which used to be pride of the South West region and the nation at large.

Speaker of the house, Right Honourable Olakunle Oluomo expressed satisfaction with the quality of the two nominees, describing them as right pec in round holes .

Governor Dapo Abiodun last October 1, forwarded the names of the two nominees to the State House of Assembly for consideration and approval.
