Old Students Association of the famous Remo Secondary School, Sagamu has showered encomium on the Ogun State Head of Service, Alhaja Selimot Olapeju Otun .
The State Head of Service was honoured on Saturday by the 'Royal Set 1973-1978' of the school during a reception organized in her honour on her appointment as the 17th Head of Service in the Ogun State Civil/ Public Service.
Akarigbo of Remo-land, Oba Adewale Babatunde Ajayi led other Royal set members at the reception held at the Nandas Hotel, Sagamu to host Alhaja Otun who is one of the set members.
The Paramount ruler described her "as the right choice for the State Civil/Public Service at this time, a great ambassador of the 'Royal Set' and Remoland".
The Akarigbo urged the Head of Service, to continue to leave a lasting impression in the mind of every individual who crosses her path, while commending the Ogun State Government for fixing some roads in Remo and like Oliver Twist, sought for more to be done.
The Head of Service's colleagues, Mr. Yinka Awopeju and Mrs. Ariyike Komi (d-m) in their seperate message at the reception,described Alhaja Otun as a well behaved, well cultured, diligent, quiet and simple person, whose humility, diligence and good upbringing, which took her this far are tracable to traits inherited from her parents.
National President of the Association, Hon. Deola Sosanwo commended the 1973-1978 set for being a pillar of support and requested for more support towards the 75th anniversary of the school and the hosting of the AIONIAN games that has been zoned to Remo Secondary School next year.
Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Local Government Pensions, Mrs. Irene Folasade Kokumo who spoke on behalf of the State Civil Service ,says" Alhaja Otun is someone who is loved and cherished by the workforce as exemplified in the way joy engulfed the entire Service when appointed as the Head of Service".
She described the Head of Service as a gentle woman , compassionate and woman of impeccable character , recalling when they both met as undergraduates at the University of Ibadan.
Other speakers at the reception including Col. Emmanuel Shoda(retired) , former Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly and two time Commissioner in the State, Bashorun Muyiwa Oladipo, the President, Remo indigenes in Ogun State Civil/Public Service, Mr. Olayinka Abdul and husband of the Head of Service, Alhaji Bashiru Ottun spoke glowingly about the good characters and deeds of the Head of Service and admonished her to continue to uphold the good works she is known for.
The highly overwhelmed Head of Service who is also the President of the Royal Set 1973-1978 expressing appreciation for the encomium showered on her by Colleagues, described the 'Royal Set' as a great set whose members are doing valiantly in their various fields of endeavours
Alhaja Otun added that the set was also privileged to have produced the current Akarigbo of Remoland and the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment and Waste Management, Mr. Ola Oresanya.
"It is a great honour to be here, I am overwhelmed. I thank God and everyone for this hosting. Our 73-78 set is great, we cannot achieve alone, let's keep joining hands to do more.",she stated .
We are a formidable group and I pray God to continue to make us greater and greater. I promise to do my best, continue to pray for me because the task is not an easy one" the number one Civil Servant submitted.
