Ogun Assembly To Screen Commissioner Designates For Education, Information On Monday...Confirms SUBEB, TESCOM, Other Statutory Boards Nominees





Ogun State Education Science and Technology Commissioner Designate, Professor Abayomi Adelaja Arigbabu and his Information and Strategy Ministry counterpart, Abdul-Waheed Odusile are expected to appear on Monday next week, October 12 before the State House of Assembly for screening.

Speaker of the house, Right Honourable Olakunle Oluomo announced the date during plenary on Thursday in Abeokuta,shortly after  acknowledging a correspondence of  Governor Dapo Abiodun dated 1st October,2020, requesting for the lawmakers confirmation of appointment of the two nominees as Commissioners. 

The speaker asked the nominees to submit 30 copies each of their curriculum vitae and other credentials to the Assembly on Friday, 9th October, 2020, ahead of the screening.

Also the State House of Assembly confirmed the appointment of nominees for the statutory Commissions and State Universal Basic Education Board earlier screened with charge on them to bring their wealth of experience to bear in moving the State forward and avoid any act capable of creating conflict between the executive and legislative arms of government in the State.

The nominees included Dr.Femi Majekodunmi as Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Evangelist Olalekan Ifede as Chairman of the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mr.Tokunbo Odebunmi , Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission as well as Olubukunola Onabanjo who heads the State Local Government Service Commission and Hon.Waliu Taiwo of the State House of Assembly Service Commission. 

The house confirmed the nominees , after adoption of screening report   by the House Committee on Selection presented by the Majority Leader Yusuf Sheriff, who later moved the motion for its adoption, seconded by the Minority Leader Ganiyu Oyedeji .
