Odun Omo-Olowu 2020 Grand-Finale Holds Today At Olowu's Palace






A ll roads lead to the Olowu's Palace in Oke Ago-Owu, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, today, October 10, where the rich cultural heritage of the Owus will be displayed as the Odun Omo-Olowu Day 2020 gets to its climax.

The Paramount ruler of the Owu-Abeokuta Kingdom, Oba (Dr) Olusanya Adegboyega Dosunmu will be presiding over the annual cultural festival where all sons and daughters of Owu at home and diaspora from all walks of life are expected to grace the event as from 9am ,this morning.

The grand-finale of the rich cultural event will include fund raising for development of the Owu-Abeokuta Kingdom.

There will also be Ella-Isu, the traditional cutting of new yam by the Olowu to commence eating of yams by the Owu people as well as Igbasan.

The 21st edition of the Odun Omo-Olowu which has its Theme"Harmony" started last Monday, October 5 with Woro, a roads show and free Medical outreach at the Olowu's palace.

There were also visitations to towns and family compounds of the Owu-Abeokuta Kingdom, which included Apomu,Erunmu, Olusomi and Amororo compounds as well as other visitations to Owu Obas in Ewekoro Ifo and Ibogun Communities in Ogun State on Tuesday and Wednesday days respectively.

On Thursday, Oba Dosunmu installed some prominent sons including former member of the State House of Assembly, Honourable Johnson Olu-Fatoki as Oganla of Owu-Abeokuta, Sani Lukemon Akorede Kolatan as the Agba-Akin of Owu-Abeokuta and Akinkunmi Alamu Kolatan as the Baale of Ijako-Awaye Community in Ewekoro Local Government Area.
