The new Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo has held a strategic meeting with executive members of the University’s staff unions and other stakeholders in the institution
The meeting held on on Wednesday
at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room, 6th Floor, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building on the Ojo main campus, was attended by members of the University Management and representatives of the various staff unions.
The engagement provided an avenue for the Vice-Chancellor and the staff union leadership to interact on matters of mutual interest, staff welfare and the continued development of the University.
The meeting further underscored the commitment of the university administration to sustained engagement, collaboration and constructive dialogue with key stakeholders in advancing the goals and aspirations of Lagos State University.
The Vice-Chancellor also interacted with various departments, units and stakeholder groups across the University, creating opportunities for interaction and closer connections with the people and teams who keep the institution moving.
The day also came with its fair share of pleasant surprises, as different groups welcomed the Vice-Chancellor with gifts and goodwill messages. Members of the Counselling Unit, LASU Sports Council, Faculty of Social Sciences and Directorate of Health Services, as well as Professor Benjamin *ARIBISALA* of the Faculty of Computing, were among those who visited her.
Adding a familiar touch to the day’s engagements were members of the Lagos State University International School (LASUIS) Board who served between 2020 and February 2026. The visit was particularly special, as Professor *BADEJO* served as Chairman of the Board during the period.
For the Vice-Chancellor, the visits provided an opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new ones and appreciate the people behind the various units and groups that contribute to the life of the University.
Professor Badejo warmly received the visitors and expressed her appreciation for their gifts, goodwill and kind gestures. She also acknowledged the importance of their various roles and contributions to the University.
From familiar faces to new encounters, the day offered a pleasant mix of conversations, goodwill and warm exchanges as the new administration settles into its journey.
