The NOVA 2026 Graduating Class of Babcock University in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State has embarked on a legacy-defining initiative with the groundbreaking of their class project: a state-of-the-art 324-seater pavilion at the Iperu campus of the university
Valued at ₦45 million, the project is designed to enhance the sporting arena and provide students with improved access to recreational facilities.
Babcock University President/Vice Chancellor, Prof. Afolarin Ojewole led the ceremony alongside other principal officers Prof. Toalni Williams, Vice President Student Development and class sponsor, Dr. Bukola Alao with co-sponsors, Pastor Muyiwa Oyinloye and Dr. Emmanuel Ikeagbu.
The Class executives were represented by Samuel Owoeye (Vice President BCCE) and Favour Ohuche (Vice President BUCODEL)
In his remarks, Prof. Ojewole emphasized the importance of quality and durability in the execution of the project
“We are not going to rush to commission these projects but be rest assured that the job is well done and delivered.
The class members can come even five or 10 years after to see that their giving made a big difference,” adding, “This is a testament of good professionalism. While others destroy their school, Babcock students build theirs, " he stated
In addition to the pavilion, the class is undertaking a second project at the main campus: the renovation of five gazebos located between the Samuel Akande Activity Hall and the cafeteria.
The initiative is expected to provide students with a modern relaxation area, further enriching campus life and promoting physical and social well-being.
Pastor Oyinloye, explained that the pavilion is an expansion of the structure built in 2019, which was affeced by a storm in 2023.
The NOVA Class is determined to rebuild and improve upon it
Engineer Seun Omotosho equally expressed support for the vision pledging that the class would do more for the physical growth of the university
“The initial award was at ₦45 million but we are likely to do more with some additional things that are going to be put in place.”
Together, these projects reflect the NOVA 2026 Class’s commitment to leaving a lasting impact on Babcock University, ensuring future generations of students benefit from enhanced facilities for sports, outdoor events, and relaxation.
