Ogun Govt Constructs Over 10,000 Houses Within 7 years In Housing Sector



Over 10,000 housing units have been constructed by the Prince Dapo Abiodun's administration in the last seven years, the Ogun State Government has disclosed 

The State Commissioner for Housing, Ministry, Jagunmolu Jamiu Omoniyi who revealed this, said the number represents about 85 percent of the deliverables in the housing sector

The Commissioner who was speaking during an inspection tour of the President Muhammadu Buhari Estate, Kobape,
 in Abeokuta,  the State capital, said the over 10,000 housing units were completed for low, medium and high earners persons, across the State.

Jagunmolu, reiterated the efforts of the present administration at ensuring the usage of direct labour process in the construction of the buildings, thus, created about 100,000 employment for artisans and services, which had helped in building up the economy with about 3.5billion GDP.

He noted that the present administration's commitment towards provision of affordable housing for the people was necessitated by the proximity of the State to Lagos and advantages of this were utilised with the provision of basic amenities that would serve as residential, offices, health centre, police post and playing ground to all the estates.
He revealed that the State government had approved the commencement of issuance of title documents to those who keyed into the housing policy of the last administration, emphasising that the robust housing investment would continue to meet the rising demand of the citizens as more affordable, quality homes and smart city initiatives would be spread across Ogun.
