LASU Disowns Purported Official Sign-Out Party , Says The Use Of Vice-Chancellor's Image Was Never Authorized

The  Management of Lagos State University  has disassociated itself from a flyer being circulated  on social media, promoting a purported *“Official Sign-Out Party”* holding this Thursday, 18th June 2026 beginning from 8:00 p.m. till dawn

The event featuring the image of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello is slated to hold at Don J Hotel, Igboelerin*, according to the flyer

The University Management in a statement by its Deputy Registrar/Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations, Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile, stated 

unequivocally that neither the Vice-Chancellor nor the University has *any involvement, knowledge, or affiliation with the planning, execution, or sponsorship of the event*. 

LASU in the statement clarified that the use of the Vice-Chancellor’s photograph and name on the flyer was done without the approval of the Vice-Chancellor", 

"Members of the University community, particularly graduating students, parents, and the general public, are thereby informed that the event is not an official university programme and is not endorsed or supported by the University"

"The University strongly dissociates itself from the event and shall not be held liable for any security breaches, financial losses, or adverse incidents that may arise from attending this event", the statement warned
