TMC Lauds Appointment Of New Ogun Head of Service, Charges Saka on Justice, Welfare and Godly Leadership

The Ogun State chapter of The Muslim Congress (TMC) has congratulated the newly appointed Head of Service in Ogun State, Alhaji Olanrewaju Iskeel Saka, praying for Allah’s guidance and wisdom as he assumes office as the number one civil servant in the state.

Governor Dapo Abiodun had on Friday appointed Alhaji Saka as the new Head of Service, following the statutory retirement of Mr. Kehinde Onasanya.

The State Waali of TMC, Dr. Jamiu Folarin in a statement, described the appointment as a testament to Alhaji Saka’s competence, professionalism, and commitment to the growth of the Ogun State Civil Service.

TMC urged the new Head of Service to draw inspiration from the exemplary leadership styles of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and the Rightly Guided Caliphs in further transforming the Ogun State Civil Service and governance structure into an enviable model of excellence.

“We have observed your professional and career trajectory from far and near, and we are confident in the value you are capable of adding to the development of Ogun State as the Head of Service,” the statement stated

The organisation further urged the new Head of Service to prioritise the welfare of workers.

“The Muslim Congress urges you to make the welfare of the entire workforce in Ogun State a top priority and to let the fear of Allah, commitment to justice, and selflessness continue to be your watchwords as you steer the ship of the Ogun State Civil Service,” the statement added.

TMC also reminded the new Head of Service of the spiritual responsibility attached to leadership in Islam.

“As Muslims, Allah places us in positions of leadership as His servants and will call us to account for how we superintend over the affairs of others. This reflects that you should align with the label of servant bestowed on us by Allah and remain a true chief servant to workers in Ogun State beyond merely being their leader.”

“You should consider this new position as an amanah (trust) from Allah. As your brothers in faith, we will always be available to support and navigate this journey with you in the service of Allah, Ogun State, and Nigeria in general.”
The organisation also called on all stakeholders in the state to cooperate with the new Head.

“We call on all stakeholders, especially the entire workforce in the state, including unions and associations, to work harmoniously with the new Head of Service, share ideas, and collectively take the Ogun State Civil Service to an enviable position.”

“The Muslim Congress prays for your success in this new role and may it become a source of joy for you in this world and the Hereafter. May Allah accept it from you and from all of us within the Muslim community and the Ummah as an act of Ibadah (worship)", the statement concluded
