Governor Dapo Abiodun has expressed his administration deep appreciation to the Muslim community in Ogun State for sustainance of peace and progress recorded in the last seven years in Ogun State
Governor Abiodun represented by Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salis on Wednesday expressed the appreciation after the Eid-prayer held at the Abeokuta Central Praying Ground at Lantoro, calling for more prayers from the Muslim clerics to ensure successful completion of his administration in the next one year
The Governor also called on the clerics to pray for the peaceful conduct of the general election in the country, which will further unite Nigerians in 2027
Governor Abiodun also used the occasion which coincided with this year's International Children Day, urging parents and guardians to emulate virtues of the holy Prophet Ibrahim, by being alive to their roles of ensuring proper upbringing of their children for them to be useful to the families, society and the nation at large
"Parents should be mindful of their roles to our children, only a child that is properly trained that can be a pride to the family, society and the nation
He equally enjoined children to always obey their parents just like Ismail did submitting himself to the wishes of his father before Allah replaced him with sacrificial ram
Similarly Chief Imam of Egbaland, Alhaji Sa'adallah Bamgbola urged Muslims to continue to emulate the spirit of sacrifice, sharing of gifts and love among people in the society, while praying Allah to grant wisdom to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun and others to continue to sustain progress in the running of the affairs of the country
Other top government's officials at the eid prayer included the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiu Hamzat , House of Representatives member, Hon. Afolabi Afuape representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, the State Head of Service, Iskeel Olanrewaju Saka amongst other dignitaries
