Eid-Ul-Adha:Ogun Muslim Council's Scribe Charges Ummah On Sacrifice, Obidience...Seeks Sustained Prayers For National Prosperity

 

 

Secretary-General of Ogun State Muslim Council (OMC), Asiwaju Kamal’deen Akintunde has charged Muslim ummah to  emulate the Eid-ul-Adha—popularly known as "Ileya virtues of absolute obedience, unyielding faith, and selfless sacrifice, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Alayhi Salaam).

The Secretary-General of the State Muslim Council, who  gave the charge in  a festive message, extended the council's warmest and most fraternal felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in the State and across Nigeria on the auspicious occasion

Akintunde in the message, also. congratulated the faithful, particularly the Ogun State pilgrims who are currently concluding their sacred Hajj rites in the Holy Land. 

The OMC scribe emphasized the spiritual significance of sacrificial slaughtering of ram  during the festive season, saying it must go beyond the physical feasting 

 "It symbolizes our willingness to sacrifice our personal comforts, political ambitions, and sectional biases for the greater good of our community and the advancement of the Ummah."Akintunde stated.

The State Muslim Council urged Muslims to used the high spiritual significance of the season, to pray fervently for Nigeria to surmount its current socio-economic and security challenges. 

Akintunde in the message, called on the citizenry to embrace patience and show empathy by sharing their sacrificial meat with the vulnerable and less privileged in society.

While wishing the President-General of the OMC, Alayeluwa Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola, the Olowu of Owu, the State Government, and all Nigerians a blissful holiday, Akintunde further cautioned celebrants and travelers to maintain moderation and strictly observe traffic safety rules during the festive period.
