A final-year medical student of the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), Faaiz Abdul-Liadi, has made the University proud after winning the prestigious Student Venture Capital Grant worth Fifty Million Naira.

His idea, developed through months of hard work and determination, stood out among over thirty thousand (30,000) applications nationwide, earning him a place among the forty-five (45) successful recipients of the equity-free funding.

To celebrate this achievement, the Deputy Provost, LASUCOM, Prof. Sunday S. Soyemi, the College Secretary, Ms Ayomipo S. Fagbenro, and some students paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello on Monday, 13th April 2026.

During the visit, the grant was formally presented to the University Management, symbolising a major milestone for both the student and Lagos State University.

In her response, the Vice-Chancellor congratulated Faaiz and noted that the University remains committed to providing a supportive environment that encourages innovation and excellence.

Faaiz Abdul-Liadi's success serves as a reminder that LASU students are not only future professionals but also capable of creating solutions that can make a real impact on society.
