Crisis seems to be brewing in Orile Oko Community in Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State over the planned installation of Mr.Koye Ijaduoye as Asiwaju of Orile Oko by Oba Moses Oludotun Fadairo
Major Stakeholders including chiefs , women and youth leaders at a press conference organized by the Orile-Oko Traditional Council of Chiefs on Wednesday in Abeokuta, opposed the planned installation, insisting that Chief Samson Adegboyega who was installed by the late Oloko of Orile Oko, Oba Oseni, is still the Asiwaju of Orile Oko
They called for urgent intervention of both Governor Dapo Abiodun and Akarigbo of Remoland , Oba Adewale Ajayi to stop the installation and avert possible break down of law and order in the peaceful community
Bada of Orile Oko, Chief Olusesi Adebesin, Chief Olayinka Ogundare( Odofin), Chief Raheem Lawal and Chief (Olori-Odo) and Chief (Mrs) Tawa Ogunsola (Lika ) in their separate remarks, on behalf of the community rejected the installation of Koye Ijaduoye as Asiwaju, saying such decision contradicts the community's historical traditions, values and its ongoing development initiatives
In a jointly speech presented at the press conference, the Orile-Oko community maintained that its traditions and customs are deeply rooted and cherished by its people, saying any leadership within the community is expected to respect and preserve these traditions
Chief Samson Adegboyega, the current holder of Asiwaju Chieftaincy title according to them, has consistently demonstrated respect for Orile-Oko's customs and traditions and never acted against the community's established norms and values
"His leadership has been in harmony with the community's heritage and aspirations"
"Among his many benevolent acts, Chief Samson Adegboyega has been instrumental in addressing the community's critical water supply issues, donating two operational boreholes -one at Ajana Primary School and another at Orile-Oko Community High School, Isan Orile-Oko. He has also generously donated educational materials and resources to support the youth and local schools, underpinning the community's social and educational advancement ", they lauded
The stakeholders however accused Koye Ijaduoye who is to be installed as new Asiwaju of promoting division and disharmony within the Orile-Oko community
"His alleged involvement in continuous harassment of youths in the community through police actions has fostered an atmosphere of fear and unrest , undermining the peace and unity essential for the community's progress "
They further raised concerns over Ijaduoye's attitude, accusing him of lack of commitment to social advancement and unity within Orile-Oko
"His leadership is viewed as detrimental to the collective aspirations of the community "
"In light of these concerns, the Orile-Oko Youth community appeals to Governor of Ogun State and Akarigbo of Remo Kingdom to uphold the community's unity , traditions and peaceful co-existence by halting the installation of Mr.Koye Ijaduoye as Asiwaju of Orile Oko. The youths call for recognition and support of leadership that genuinely promotes development and harmony, such as that exemplified by Chief Samson Adegboyega", they stated
Pastor Silas Adegboyega also appreciated the stakeholders for renewing the strength of his elder brother and the entire family of Adegboyega in the struggle
When contacted for his comment on the allegations raised against him on the Chieftaincy issue, Ijaduoye declined comment, saying only Oba Moses Oludotun Fadairo, the new Oloko of Orile Oko can make further comment on the matter
