The Super Eagles on Saturday booked their place in the semi-finals of the committee with a commanding 2–0 victory over Desert Foxes of Algeria in a quarter final match played at the Grand Stade de Marrakech
The Nigerian side scored twice in the remaining half through Victor Osimhen in the 47th minute with a powerful header, before Akor Adams sealed the win in the 57th minute with a composed right-footed finish
The Desert Foxes, who had conceded just one goal throughout the tournament before the quarter-final, were undone by Nigeria’s relentless pressure and clinical second-half finishing
At full-time, Nigeria secured a convincing 2–0 victory over Algeria, with both goals arriving in an impressive second-half display
Victor Osimhen is still in contention for the highest scorer of the competition, after grabbing his fourth goal in the AFCON
