FUNAAB's Graduates Are Second Most Sought After By Employers-Says Pro-Chancellor..Seeks For More Media Support



Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, (FUNAAB), the Aragbaji of Iragbajiland, Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi has rated graduates of the institution as the second most sought after among Nigerian universities by employers of labour in the country 

Chairman of Governing Council of the university who was speaking on Wednesday during a special dinner to appreciate media partners and personnel in the institution's Directorate of Public Relations held on the Alabata main campus of the university in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, attributed the high quality graduates being produced in the university to peaceful academic environment being enjoined by students, couple with robust 21st Century academic programmes which has scaled up products of the institution 
"The University has very good infrastructural layout apart from congenial town and gown relationship, staff development and welfare facilities as well as security of lives and properties of the members of the University Community", he stated 

The monarch was quick to appreciate media organizations and Directorate of Public Relations of the university for projecting academic feats of FUNAAB while seeking for more media support in the coming weeks 

Oba Olabomi particularly acknowledged the efforts of the Head of Directorate of Public Relations under the leadership of 
Mr. Olajide Olasukanmi and media partners for keeping members of the public aware of the great exploits which the University has been making in the area of Training, Research and Community Engagements

"This feat could not have been accomplished by extra-terrestrial forces. The Human Resources that have done the magic are all the Public Relations personnel and Journalists that are gathered in this hall", he stated 
" I need to specially thank the Management led by Prof. Olusola Babatunde Kehinde for ensuring the necessary support and encouragement given to the Public Relations Unit, the FUNAAB Radio and all the personnel who provide contents that have helped to facilitate a leap in information dissemination within the University in the past twelve months or more", 
'The reward of hard work is more work. Please regard this interaction as a call to be more dedicated, more supportive and more resilient to bolster the image of this University all over the world, and to such an extent that the deaf will hear while the blind shall see the good works that FUNAAB is doing"he concluded 
Similarly Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Olusola Kehinde appreciated the Directorate of Public Relations and media partners for the adequate coverage of the activities of the institution which has seen FUNAAB being ranked as number one university of agriculture in Africa and seventh in the world
He pledged that the university would ensure a stronger relationship with the media, to sustain the culture of academic excellence and enhance the positive image of FUNAAB 

Earlier, the Acting Head of Directorate of Public Relations of FUNAAB, Olajide Olasukanmi was full of appreciation to the governing council and management of the university for creating a very conducive working environment for personnel in the Directorate to thrive through regular training to enhance the skills of Public Relations Executives 
He pledged a more cordial relationship with the media for sustenance of positive image for the university 

Also the Ogun State Council Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Comrade Wale Olarewaju and Chairman of the State Correspondents Chapel, Prince Rasaq Ayinla in their separate goodwill messages, described the media interaction and dinner as very unique in the history of the university, saying it will further strengthen the cordial relationship with media organizations including print, electronic and online media.

They lauded the governing council led by Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi and Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Kehinde for recognizing and rewarding the hard work and remarkable contributions of the Directorate of Public Relations of the university and media partners who ensured positive projection of the university's activities to the general public

The university equally noted the numerous contributions of its radio station to the sustenance of positive image of the university in the public while rewarding the personnel in the Directorate of Public Relations with cash prizes 
Similarly, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences Abeokuta (FUMMSA) Prof. Fatiu Arogundade , leading other principal officers of the university at the event, promised to emulate the initiative of FUNAAB in building a strong relationship with the media
