LASU Dismisses Transport Arrangement For Prospective Corps Members In Viral Digital Poster

Management of the Lagos State University Ojo has disassociated itself with a digital poster currently circulating on social media, claiming that arrangements have been made, allegedly in collaboration with the Students’ Affairs Division* of the institution to transport Prospective Corps Members to National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camps nationwide in Nigeria

In the digital poster, the departure time had been scheduled for 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 24th September 2025 from the Ojo campus of LASU

But Deputy Registrar/Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations of the university, Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile in a statement obtained by Edu-biznews on Tuesday, says the Students’ Affairs Division is not involved in any such arrangement and has not authorised any individual, group, or organisation to liaise with Prospective Corps Members for transportation to NYSC camps

The statement further reads in part:

"Members of the University community and the general public are hereby advised that transportation to NYSC Orientation Camps is a private undertaking, and LASU is not in any way affiliated with or responsible for such logistics".

"The Students’ Affairs Division is taking appropriate steps to identify and address this act of impersonation"

"Meanwhile, all Prospective Corps Members are strongly advised to exercise caution, avoid dealing with unauthorised agents, and prioritise their personal safety as they embark on their journey to serve the nation".

"The University wishes all Prospective Corps Members a safe and successful transition to their respective Orientation Camps", the statement concluded
