Brilliance, innovation, and ambition were on full display as world-class students of Lagos State University (LASU) made their mark at the prestigious Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) Africa Master’s Tour 2025, held on Tuesday, 23rd September 2025, at Covenant University, Otta, Ogun State, Nigeria.
Led by the Director of the LASU Career Development Centre (LCDC), Professor Stella Durowoju, the students embraced the opportunity to network, learn, and showcase the excellence of LASU on a global stage.
The international tour featured a vibrant networking fair, where students engaged directly with universities, business schools, and partners, exploring a wide range of postgraduate opportunities. Panel presentations gave participants invaluable insights into the graduate application process and the GMAT examination, with experts breaking down requirements and best practices.
Among the highlights were thought-provoking sessions such as:
The Key Ingredients of a Winning Application”* presented by Mr Vheer from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) and ESBADE Business School.
*“Which Business Degree is Right for Me?”* by Ms Shan from BI Norwegian Business School, Mr Ansal from the London Business School, and Mr Daniel Owonikoko, who provided insights on *“Study Opportunities in France”*.
An engaging question-and-answer session allowed LASU students to interact directly with the experts, asking relevant questions on applications, funding opportunities, degree choices, and career pathways.
A notable highlight of the tour was when the Director of the Directorate of Linkages, Partnerships and Collaborations, Professor K. O. Akinyemi, engaged with GMAC officials on the possibilities of future collaborations and partnerships. Discussions centred on staff exchange programmes that would further expand LASU’s global academic reach and create new opportunities for professional growth.
Professor Durowoju, in her remarks, commended the students for their enthusiasm and stressed the importance of international engagements such as the GMAC Tour in preparing LASU students for global competitiveness.
