2025 Admission:LASU Emerges As Most Preferred Varsity With Over 70,000 Applicants Jostling For Seats

Lagos State University Ojo has emerged as the most subscribed university in Nigeria for the 2025 admission exercise , according to the latest Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Application Statistics by Institution, released by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)

A breakdown of applicants seeking admission into universities , shows that a total of 70,080 candidates selected LASU as their first-choice institution, placing it ahead of the University of Lagos with 58,645 applications, and the University of Ilorin with 56,758 applications, which ranked second and third, respective

This outstanding feat follows LASU’s impressive performance in 2024, when it recorded 62,601 first-choice applicants, positioning it as the second-most subscribed university in the country - a significant leap from its 2023 record, when it ranked third with just over 55,000 applications. Notably, prior to 2023, the university had never featured among the top ten most subscribed institutions in Nigeria.

The university's progressive rise in national rankings is a clear reflection of its unwavering commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and student-centred leadership.
