Ogun State Government has commissioned a renovated block of four classrooms at Ilewo Community High School, Ilewo-Orile, commending the donor for aligning with its vision of transforming schools in all the region of the State.
The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof.Abayomi Arigbabu during the event, said the donation marks a significant milestone in the shared interest of the government towards providing a conducive, safe and inspiring learning environment for students across the State.
Prof. Arigbabu, represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Oluwatosin Oloko reaffirmed the commitment of Prince Dapo Abiodun's administration to education, as well as the development of children, enjoining the school head, teachers and learners to be optimal in maintaining the structure.
"This laudable effort has not gone unnoticed, I call on other well-meaning descendants of Ilewo-Orile to return home and contribute meaningfully to the development of education in this community," Arigbabu said.
In their goodwill messages, the Chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government, Dr. Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo and the Deputy Chief Whip, representing Abeokuta North State Constituency, Dr. Babatunde Tella, stated that the project would have a lasting impact in the lives of the students and teachers of the school.
In his speech, the donor, who is also the Balogun of Ilewo Kingdom, Samson Omosowon, noted that the building was named after his late father for his passion for education, urging the educators to impart positively into the lives of the learners to make useful leaders in the future.
