Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation has rated Ogun State House of Assembly as second best among the State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria.
Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Oludaisi Elemide alongside some of his colleague- lawmakers and the Assembly Clerk have also been recognized for their exemplary commitment to legislative ethics, transparency and alignment to State and national objectives.
Executive Director of the Centre , Salih Musa Yakubu who presented the awards at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan in Abeokuta, noted that the recognition was based on thematic areas of excellence including legislative productivity, adherence to ethical standards and alignment with state and national objectives and other key performance indicators
He commended the Assembly for its dedication and steadfastness in promoting good governance through compliance with legislative rules, due process, transparency and mutual interdependence with other arms of government and the Assembly workers.
Responding on behalf of his co- lawmakers, the Speaker, Right Honourable Elemide, expressed gratitude for the recognition, commending the Centre for acknowledging the efforts of the State House of Assembly in the promotion of good governance.
He emphasized that the awards would spur members of the Assembly to strive hard to consolidate on the performance to building a prosperous State, assuring the Centre of more commitment to ethical principles to aid good governance.
