Federal Government has lauded the Ogun State Government's initiatives in Information and Communication Technology, with a promise to create additional 300 jobs through tech- based investments for youths in the state.
The Minister of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani gave the promise at a computer round table meeting with the Ogun Tech Community in Abeokuta, the State capital
Dr. Tijani said Ogun State has become a model for other states in digital economy by channeling its investments into emerging technology ecosystems, making the government at the Federal level pay attention to it and planning to create more 300 jobs through business process outsourcing which would transform Ogun to a talent city.
He called on stakeholders, especially Ogun Tech Community to prioritise creating tech solutions for local business ideas to grow by integrating technologies, such as artificial intelligence, robotics drones into education and agricultural sectors in order to bring revolution to the future of the state, saying Federal Government would support any state, Community or group of entrepreneur that braced up on technology towards expanding digital economy.
President of Ogun Tech Community, Adekunle Duros in MI lauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for creating a tech- friendly environment through establishment of Ogun TechHub, saying the future of technology had been made by his administration and would be sustained by collective efforts.
He noted that Ogun TechHub has redirected the careers of many youths in the state, helping companies, Tech entrepreneurs and startups to grow, calling for more synergy between the government and Ogun Tech Community.
