The Minister who visited the school over the weekend, announced the N100,000 each worth of scholarship awards and other packages under his recently launched Bosun Tijani Fellowship
He also announced in a post on Facebook page, other packages including brand-new laptop and new
school uniforms for each of the beneficiaries of the scholarship awards
Dr. Tijani who was accompanied by the Ogun State Education, Science and Technology Commissioner, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, described the visit to the school as an emotional journey to his roots, as large number of highly excited students came out to welcome him into the school's premises
He equally revealed a plan to renovate a block of one storey building of four classrooms to be equipped with modern furniture and smart boards, to create an environment worthy of 21st-century learning.
I returned to my roots — Anglican High School, Quarry Road, Abeokuta — the place that shaped my earliest dreams.
It was an emotional journey through memory lane, but more importantly, a chance to give back meaningfully to the next generation.
The Facebook message further reads in parts:," I have adopted the school’s science laboratory, which is currently empty, and will be transforming it into a well-equipped space for practical science learning"
"This is more than a gesture of gratitude. It is a belief that greatness can emerge from anywhere — and that with the right support, today’s students can build a future even brighter than our past"
"To every young person out there: your story matters, your dreams are valid, and we are counting on you"", the Minister concluded
