Demise Of Prof.Ademuyiwa: Ajebo Road Housing Estate Community Wants Ogun Govt To Install Speed Breaker, Other Safety Measures To Prevent Further Losses

The Ajebo Road Housing Estate, Kemta, Abeokuta Community has demanded for immediate installation of speed breaker and safety measures on the road by the Ogun State Government to prevent further loss of lives , following the death of Prof. Oladipo Ademuyiwa on the road

Prof. Ademuyiwa was reported to have been killed by hit-and-run driver on Prof Wole Soyinka Road within Kemta - Somorin road on last Sunday, February 16, 2025

Chairman of Community Development Association of the estate, Dr Ayo Ajasa who made the call while expressing the sadness of the community over the tragic loss of the professor, lamented that government had failed to respond to the persistent call for necessary safety measures, particularly speed bumps on the road

"It is disheartening that despite repeated appeals to the Ogun State Government and relevant agencies, no concrete action has been taken to install speed breakers and other necessary safety measures on this road. The government did not hesitate in installing speed bumps on the Ilugun end of the Road, but ignored our persistent requests to safeguard lives in Ajebo Road Housing Estate"

The community in the statement made available to Edu-Biznews, is demanding for installation of  Lorry Barrier, clear traffic signage to caution motorists against reckless driving and stricter law enforcement to curb excessive speeding within the estate

The road according to the community, has become a death trap as a result of inability of the government to do the needful safety measures on the road to prevent the loss of lives on the road
