Ogun State Government has inaugurated a 12-man Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the forth coming 65th National Conference of the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN), holding between 15th and 21st of August 2025 in Abeokuta, the State capital
The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu during the inauguration in his office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, charged the committee to make adequate preparation for the conference, saying Ogun State is known as best in terms of standard and hospitality.
He also enjoined teachers to put in their best to that learners would continue to excel in their academic pursuit both in national and international competitions, saying with the investment of the present administration in quality education, the sky was not only the limit but starting point.
Arigbabu said the Ministry would continue to ensure that learners enjoy the state support where necessary and sponsor them to participate in competitions such as, STAN, JETS, OLYMPIAD, among others
"Today, every association is important for us and we will continue to give our support but you should also do things that will make us proud, so as to justify whatever support we give you", Arigbabu charged
Earlier, Chairman of the LOC, Dr. Yomi Onanuga explained that the conference was a platform for advancing Science Education and fostering collaboration among educators nationwide, appreciating the Ministry for its usual support towards ensuring that Ogun State remain outstanding in all Competitions, promising to make the best out of the conference.
