A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon Tunji Omolewu, has congratulated Alhaji Olaide Abass over his confirmation as the new State Chairman of the party in Oyo State.
Abass has been leading the main opposition party in Oyo State in an acting capacity following the death of the former party chairman in the state, Isaac Omodewu.
Omolewu, in a statement by his media Aide, Seyi Ipadeola, described the development as well deserved.
The former Ibarapa North Council Chairman explained that the new party chairman has the capacity to return APC to power in the state in 2027.
Jabele as he is fondly called added that the new APC chairman is a thorough bred politician with wherewithal to ensure unity and stability in the party.
According to him, party stakeholders including the leaders, members and supporters, must give their maximum support to Abass to reposition the party ahead of the next general election.
"Let me first of all congratulate my father, a political enigma with track records of achievements, Alhaji Abass, as he becomes the substantive Chairman of our dear party in the pace setter state" he stated.
"Baba has all it takes to return APC to Agodi seat of power in Oyo State by 2027, if all of us can give him the needed support for the betterment of our party" he pleaded.
"Oyo State cannot afford to remain in opposition for another political four year term, let all the aggrieved persons bury their hatchet and embrace peace within our party" Jabele concluded
Omolewu assured of his commitment to the party success while asking other party members to continue supporting the APC at all levels.
