Ogun Public Works Agency Assures 20 LGAs Of Construction Of Two Roads Each


Ogun State Public Works Agency (OGPWA), says construction of two roads in each of the 20 Local Government Areas across the State is sacrosanct.

Special Adviser/General Manager of the agency, Engr. Babatunde Adesina who disclosed this during a media chat in Abeokuta, noted that proper planning would be done to ensure equitable distribution of road projects in all the council areas

He said that construction work would engender rapid development and uniformity in road infrastructure intervention in the state, particularly in rural areas.

“The state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has been very swift on road matters. His impressive efforts on Federal and Local Government roads across the state has been ameliorating the challenges that people are facing", he stated 

“There are different mechanisms put in place by the Agency across the 20 local governments. We have seven Zonal Officers in Ogun State that give reports on roads related matters on monthly basis, to ensure effective management. We also go on media tour every three months to have an update on situation of our roads and feedback gathered will be attended to", he explained.

The Governor's aide revealed that the agency had constructed over 50 roads in the three Senatorial Districts of the state, which included, Brewery-Ita-oshin road, Atan Lusada road, Iwe iroyin, Elite-Lantoro Road, Immigration-Prof Wole Soyinka road, Fajool-Alogi-Gbonogun Road, Ijebu-Epe Road, Awujale Road, Folagbde road, Joju Road in Ota, Answarudeen-Oju/Ore Road, Osi-Ota-Raypower road, Igan okoto-Joga orile phase one, Ewusi Road, Molusi College road, among others.

Engr. Adesina, appealed to the members of the public to exercise patience and continue to support the current administration, stating that road construction and rehabilitation would get to every nooks and crannies of the state.

He assured that, "as dry season approaches, the agency will ensure proper maintenance of roads that needed attention".
