Ogun Govt To Launch Digital Platform For Promotion Of Tourism Sector

Ogun State Government has finalized the process of launching an Online Platform 
to project its rich tradition , cultural values and tourism potential to the world, as part of strategic moves  towards creating tourists’ awareness in the sector and boosting Internally Generated Revenue of the State 

The State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Sesan Fagbayi, who disclosed this while featuring on a personality programme in Abeokuta, said the development would enable the state to attract more investors, private partnership and tourists to the state thereby increasing the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

" Online Platform for Culture and Tourism Matters (OPLACT) is a platform that would avail tourists from all over the world to log into the app to access all tourist’s sites across the state before visiting, those sites, as well as Hotels they desire to lodge into when they come for tourist adventures and other information they require to know about the Ministry and its activities", Fagbayi revealed 

The Commissioner added that the present administration through the ministry was working towards organising the Ogun State Carnival that would encompass drums, traditional attires, costumes and dances, and many more, where all the 20 Local Governments would come together to showcase their area of  specilisation in terms of culture, traditions , fashion, cuisine among other cultural heritages peculiar to their locality.

Speaking further he said the present administration had begun to enlist some of the cultural festivals in the state in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), such as the Ojude Oba Festival and the Bilikisu Sugbo Tourist site.
