Ogun Govt Pledges Support For Clean Energy Projects To Enhance Industrial Growth



Ogun State Government has pledged to support projects geared towards clean and efficient energy, so as to achieve sustainable energy solutions for industries and boost the growth of businesses in the state 

The State Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela, made the pledge during the commissioning of Tetracore Energy Group’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Facility and Groundbreaking of the company’s Small-scale Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Facility, at Atakobo community, in Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Sofela who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola, said CNG and LNG, as well as other clean energy projects were in tandem with the collective drive of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration on achieving sustainable energy solutions and energy security.

The Commissioner who described the Group’s CNG and LNG projects as a significant milestone for the nation, noted that apart from helping to increase penetration and utilisation of natural gas

The initiative according to him  “.will create numerous job opportunities for our citizens, stimulate economic growth and contribute significantly to the development of our industrial base.

“I assure you of our full support and cooperation to facilitate the success of these projects. We are committed to creating a conducive environment for businesses to thrive and for innovative solutions to flourish”.

Sofela called on investors to take advantage of opportunities abound in the state, assuring that government would continue to create the enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

Earlier, Chief Executive Officer, Tetracore Energy Group, Mr. Olakunle Williams, who said the two projects were in line with gas revolution in the country, assured that the company remained focused on increasing penetration of natural gas, thereby driving Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and economic growth

He disclosed that the $40m Small-Scale LNG project would be ready by next year.

The event was graced by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo.
