Ogun State Government has called for collaboration of genuine private developers in improving investment in the housing sector, so as to provide more affordable accommodation for the people and address housing deficits in the state
The State Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi made the call while playing host to the executives of Real Estates Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), Ogun State chapter, at the Conference Room of the Ministry, Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, describing housing as an essential component in human life.
Jagunmolu Omoniyi noted that the visit of the Association was timely, saying the housing scheme of the Prince Dapo Abiodun’s administration had delivered thousands of smart affordable houses to different categories of the people in the state
The initiative according to him, had provided livelihood to the people through the engagement of artisans and serve as stimulant for economic activities
Earlier in his address, State Chairman of REDAN, Dr. Adeyemi Adeniyi, who expressed delight with the success recorded in the state’s housing sector, noted that government had adopted an open economic system by building houses for people to purchase, pledging his Association’s support for the initiative of ‘Housing For All’ in the state.
